Guwahati, Dec 15: Yet another medical negligence has come to light in upper Assam’s Tinsukia district, where a woman died after giving birth to a baby at the private hospital in Margherita.
The family members alleged that, due to medical negligence, the woman died after giving birth to a baby.
The woman has been identified as Mitali Phukan Buragohain, a resident of Parbotipur, under the Jagun police outpost.
According to reports, the incident occurred at Rontix Private Hospital, situated at Tiniali Margherita.
“Due to the negligence of gynaecologist Dr. Tapan Chandra Borthakur, Mitali died,” alleged family members.
Talking to media persons, the husband of the deceased woman said, “We came for the check-up yesterday when the doctor asked us to admit her immediately. My wife was taken to the OT at around 6 PM; however, the anaesthesia doctor came at around 7 PM.
At around 8 p.m., I was told that a girl had been born. On the next day, my wife complained of severe abdomen pain; she was administered two injections.”.
The husband of the deceased alleged that Mitali Phukan tried for help and sought a doctor’s assistance; however, the doctor came 50 minutes later, and due to that his wife died.
