India records highest daily rise in COVID-19 cases since May 31, adds 312 new infections

New Delhi, Dec 15: The data by the Union Health Ministry said that India has witnessed a single-day rise of 312 new coronavirus infections, the highest since May 31.

The tally of active cases have increased to 1,296, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.

While the death toll was recorded at 5,33,310, as per the data updated at 8 am.

The nation’s COVID-19 case count has reached 4.50 crore (4,50,04,142). The recovery count has risen to 4,44,69,536, with a national recovery rate of 98.81%, as reported by the health ministry’s website.

With a case fatality rate of 1.19%, the health ministry’s website reports that 220.67 crore doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the country.
