Bansphors, Chakmas of SWGH asked to register at DC’s office to avail SEED scheme

Ampati, Apr 1: The Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills (SWGH), has invited beneficiaries belonging to Bansphor and Chakma communities residing in the District to register themselves at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Ampati to avail the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED) implemented by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Development for welfare of the Denotified/Nomadic & Semi-nomadic Communities.

The information to this effect was issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Ampati following the notification by the Union Ministry regarding the scheme for persons belonging to the Bansphor and Chakma communities which are listed as denotified/nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes in Meghalaya.

For availing the scheme, the beneficiaries of aforementioned communities residing in the district of South West Garo Hills have been asked to register themselves in the DC’s office with valid documents to prove their identity.
