Guwahati, March 28: With the countdown to the Assam Assembly elections underway, the BJP has intensified its campaign, with top leaders—including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh—scheduled to address a series of rallies across the state.

Prime Minister Modi will interact with BJP workers and the public via the NaMo App on March 30. He is slated to arrive in Assam on March 31 and stay overnight in Dibrugarh. On April 1, he will address election rallies in Dhemaji and Behali. The Prime Minister is also expected to return to the state on April 6, when he will participate in three campaign meetings for the ruling NDA at Hojai, Barpeta Road, and Moran.

Meanwhile, Amit Shah is visiting Assam on March 28 to address election rallies in Guwahati, Dhekiajuli, and Tihu, signalling the party’s aggressive push in key constituencies.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will also arrive in the state on March 31. He is scheduled to address NDA campaign meetings at Collegiate Field in Tezpur and at Balijan Bagisha Khelpathar in Dergaon.

On the same day, Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis will campaign for party candidates in the Jorhat and Dibrugarh constituencies.

Polling for the 126-member Assam Assembly will be held in a single phase on April 9.

With just a few days to go, political parties have ramped up their outreach efforts, and the visits of senior BJP leaders are expected to provide momentum to the party’s campaign across the state.
