BJP slams Pala’s ‘baseless’ claims, says no ploy needed

Must read

SHILLONG, DEC 2: The state BJP has strongly criticized Congress chief Vincent Pala’s statement, calling it “baseless accusations and fictitious claims”. The party asserts that Pala’s claims about ‘One North East’ being a BJP ploy are unfounded and lack evidence.

“BJP outrightly rules three states in the North East and has representation in NDA governments in two other important states of the region. As a party we don’t need a ploy, we are voted to power over and over again due to our good governance and inclusive development model, we earn people’s support through transparent politics, things that are foreign to the Congress,” BJP chief spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The BJP also took umbrage to Pala’s alleged suggestion that the party is not liked by tribals in the Northeast, citing its governance in Arunachal Pradesh and significant presence in Nagaland.

“So to say that BJP is not liked by tribals of the North East is an absolute fallacy. The Congress and its members should get their facts in place before issuing such statements. Or is that too much to ask from Rahul Gandhi and his friends?” Kharkrang added.
