Shillong, June 26: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday seized medicines, cosmetics and clothing items around Rs 20 lakh at different locations of the international border while being smuggled to Bangladesh.
Acting on reliable information, BSF troops deployed at International Border of West Jaintia Hills planned an operation and foiled the smuggling attempt by seizing medicines consisting Tab Ista20, cap Mon Q, Oint Drone TM, Oint Cesol, Syrup VB3 and many others total amount to Rs 10.90 lakh.
In other incidents, BSF troops confiscated huge quantities of cosmetics and clothing from the bordering area of South West Khasi Hills and East Khasi hills.
One Bangladesh national namely Feroz Ali (18) resident of Sylhet, Bangladesh was also apprehended by BSF at Pyrdwah under Pynursla police station while carrying cosmetics illegally from India to Bangladesh.
BSF troops also confiscated cosmetics worth Rs 9 lakhs.
