The Congress-led 18-party United Opposition Forum Assam (UoFA) has announced that their alliance will continue till the 2026 assembly elections in the state to oust BJP from power.
"There are people, who have expressed interest to contest on a VPP ticket for the Gambegre bye election but as a party we have decided not to take any hasty decision on the matter if we want to get the full support of the people of Garo Hills region," he said.
