Guwahati, Feb 26: The Chilarai Divas is celebrated in different parts of Assam to honor the 514th birth anniversary of the General of the Koch Kingdom, Bir Chilarai.

In Guwahati, Lachit Ghat in Fancy Bazar hosts a two-day program to commemorate Bir Chilarai on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra. A drama named ‘Bir Chilarai’ was also performed by the Pragya Foundation on Sunday evening.

The play featured 117 famous actors and actresses from Assam and was staged from 6 pm on both days.

The Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika, MP Pabitra Margherita, and others graced the occasion with their presence.
