Shillong, Sept 30: The Government of Meghalaya has announced important updates regarding the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) 2025, following the overwhelming response received from students across the State.
The Education Department has clarified that students availing CMSS will continue to remain eligible for the Post-Matric ST Scholarship as well as any other Central or State scholarship schemes. This clarification has been issued to reassure students and parents that applying for CMSS will not restrict or disqualify them from other benefits.

Taking into account the strong response from students, the Government has extended the last date for submission of applications till 31st October, 2025.
The response to CMSS has been unprecedented – within just one month of its launch, the portal has received over 50,000 applications from students across different districts of Meghalaya. This reflects the popularity of the scheme and the importance it holds in supporting the higher education aspirations of the youth.
The Government has urged all eligible students from Class XI up to Ph.D. level, studying in recognised institutions within and outside Meghalaya, to make use of this opportunity and apply through the official Meghalaya One portal before the deadline.
