Williamnagar, Nov 26: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma has promised to complete the construction of the new Williamnagar Government College in Williamnagar by December 2022.

He made the announcement while laying the Foundation Stone of the College in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills on Thursday in presence of local MLA & Govt Chief Whip Marcuise Marak.

Stressing that ‘Time is a precious resource to man’, Conrad said he will personally monitor the project to see its timely completion. This project is one of the many projects to be set-up in Williamnagar.  Although the government has ‘limited resources’, Conrad said things have to be started somewhere. He said the government is trying to improve the education infrastructure in the state so that the youth get access to quality education. To show the present government’s commitment to improve education sector in Meghalaya, Conrad said the government has sanctioned about Rs. 1500-2000 crores in just two and half year for improvement of educational facilities.

“No other government has done this during their tenure,” he said even as he reminded that education is the utmost priority of the present Government.
The Chief Minister also stressed that being in the Government is not a position to boast about or for personal enjoyment but one has to have a great responsibility, a position to make a difference in people’s life and the future of the children.
