WILLIAMNAGAR, JUNE 1: East Garo Hills District Magistrate, RP Marak had imposed Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 in East Garo Hills thereby prohibiting movement or crossing of all heavy vehicles weighing above 9 tones across the BUG Bridge No. 6/2 in Songkama village under Songsak C&RD Block.

According to the official circular, allowing the continuous and unchecked movement of heavy, over-loaded commercial transport vehicles over the said bridge poses an imminent threat to public safety, carries severe risk of sudden structural failure or collapse and threatens to disrupt essential connectivity to neighboring areas.
