Must read

Dibrugarh, May 19: Former All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) General Secretary Sankarjyoti Baruah has been detained by Dibrugarh police following allegations of physically assaulting petrol pump workers in Duliajan on Sunday.

According to initial reports, Baruah allegedly attacked a staff member at the petrol station. Confirming the incident, Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Rakesh Reddy said Baruah has been taken into custody for further investigation.

Baruah had resigned from his post as AASU’s General Secretary last year after controversy erupted over his personal life and allegations of sexual harassment. He announced his resignation via Facebook, attributing his decision to a dispute involving his relationship with a law student.
