Boko, Oct 5: In a proud moment for Assam, Bandita Devi Rabha, a talented student from Bamundanga in West Goalpara, has been felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for securing the All-India Top Rank in Cosmetology under the 2025 ITI program of the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI-West), Tura, Meghalaya.
The prestigious recognition was conferred during the 4th National Skill Convocation 2025 held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on October 3, where Prime Minister Modi personally presented awards to top-performing students from across India, with a special focus on achievers from the Northeastern region.
Bandita Devi completed her advanced training in Cosmetology at NSTI-West, Tura, after undergoing initial training at the ITI Dhupdhara Kothakuthi under Dudhnoi Samjila (2022–24 batch). Her exceptional performance has brought laurels not only to Meghalaya, where she trained, but also to Assam’s Goalpara district, making her a symbol of youth achievement and regional pride.
The All Rabha Students’ Union (ARSU) congratulated Bandita on her success and extended best wishes for her future endeavours, describing her achievement as an inspiring example of how vocational education can empower young people from rural areas.
Bandita’s recognition underscores the growing prominence of students from Assam’s Goalpara region in national-level platforms, reflecting the transformative impact of skill-based education and government-supported training programs in the Northeast.
