Shillong, Sept 27: Education Minister Rakkam A. Sangma on Wednesday announced that the Education Department is actively discussing a proposal to grant age relaxation for SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) teachers, enabling their participation in government recruitment processes.
Speaking to reporters, Sangma highlighted the department’s commitment to exploring the most effective ways to support SSA teachers.
It is worth noting that both the All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers’ Association (AMSSASTA) and the All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association (AGHSSASTA) have set a deadline of September 30 for the Meghalaya government to meet their demand for a 100% salary hike.
