Shillong, Aug 5: The state government through the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) is all set to acquire land for the proposed 4-lane Greenfield Alignment (High-Speed Corridor) passing through the following 34 villages under East Jaintia Hills district.
The villages are: Tuber Shohshrieh, Tuber Kmai Shnong, Wapung Shnong, Wapung Skur, Lad Rymbai Datsimpein, Mookhep, Lad Rymbai B, Dkhiah West, Dkhiah East, Khlieriat East, Rymbai, Umsatai, Pynurkba, Bataw, Lakadong Umlatdoh, Lakadong Ummat, Lama, Borghat, Natbor, Dein Satlang, Kwator, Demlakang, Ladwahwapung, Hingaria, Huroi, Lahalein, Lejri, Borsora, Kuliang, Umkiang, Lum Phyllut, Dona Skur, Dona Umbluh and Ratacherra.
Informing this on Tuesday, the district collector of East Jaintia Hills district said, “The general public is hereby informed that any new construction or development activity within the designated areas of the proposed 4-lane Greenfield Alignment (High Speed Corridor) must obtain prior permission from the office of the Deputy Commissioner.”
“Furthermore, it is hereby clearly stated that any unauthorized structures – whether temporary or permanent – erected within the proposed right of way (ROW) after the issuance of this notice will not be considered eligible for any form of compensation at the time of land acquisition or project implementation. This applies to both private and commercial structures,” he said.
The district collector also stated his order shall come into immediate effect from the date of publication.
