Shillong, Aug 29: Excise Minister Kyrmen Shylla, has said the government will soon roll out the implementation of the QR code based tracking system in the excise department to ensure there is no revenue leakage.
Shylla told reporters on Thursday that the initial deadline was set for August. However, the timeline has been extended due to requests from the vendors and the need for the Chief Minister’s presence at the launch.

The minister hopes to launch the QR code tracking system before the commencement of the upcoming Assembly’s autumn session, depending on the Chief Minister’s availability.
Asked, Shylla informed that the department is working hard to exceed the previous year’s revenue collection.
Although he did not have the exact numbers with him, the minister assured that the department is striving to achieve its objective.
