Shillong, Oct 19: The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO) on Tuesday lodged a complaint against the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) for alleged violation of the COVID-19 protocols.

In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills Isawanda Laloo , the organization alleged that despite covid-19 SOPs enforced by the office, the delegation of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) led by the president Sardar Manjindar Singh Sirsa convened a public meeting at Them lew Mawlong area in Shillong on the 13th Oct with an ample attendance. Referring to a video clipping from a local news channel, the members alleged that an unaccounted number of people had attended the public meeting which is a clear violation of Covid-19 protocols.

In this connection, HITO has sought clarification as to whether the office had known about the sudden visit of the delegation and the public gathering that had an allowable presence.

Further, HITO urged the DC to take immediate cognizance and stringent legal action against the violators as per law of the land.
