Tura, April 12 : The ICFAI University, Tura Campus conducted a Career Counselling Program themed, “Find your Passion, Design your Career” on Friday. 210 students comprising of Class XII and Under Graduates course participated in the program.

Principals , teachers and students from various educational institutions of Tura and Garobadha participated in the program.

In the Program VSB Sangma Advisor, ICFAI University Meghalaya, Tura Campus said that finding the journey of a career path which interest us is important, because with that we discover ourselves.

Dr.Alicia Gatphoh , the Vice Chancellor ICFAI University Meghalaya focused on the issue of students navigating their future with direction and the need to channel passion.

The technical session was delivered by Asoke Tigidi, Rtd. IAS officer. He shared his own experiences as a student, discussing the challenges he faced in choosing his dream career.

The second session was headed by Biana W Momin, former Principal of Tura Government College, who spoke about the various academic paths available to students. She emphasized that academic choices should be aligned with personal interests to make learning enjoyable. She stressed on the importance of entrance exams like CUET for accessing top universities and urging preparation alongside class 12 studies.

She highlighted the significance of vocational training, particularly pointing out the shortage of skilled professionals and suggested students to consider these paths to meet regional demands.

The third session was delivered by Beryl B. Sangma, former RBI Chief General Manager, who highlighted on the numerous opportunities and robust growth prospects. He underscored the importance of choosing the right career, emphasizing that it leads to personal satisfaction, professional interest, stability, superior job performance, and monetary benefits.

The session was concluded by Dr. Surajit Sen, Associate Professor ICFAI University Meghalaya who spoke on the topic “A Checklist to locating your passion and planning your Career”. He began his session with a thought provoking exercise, prompting students to write an essay on aim in life.
