Guwahati, February 10: IIT Guwahati inaugurated the Centre of Excellence on Smart Wearable Advanced Nano Sensing Technologies in Healthcare (SWASTHA) on Saturday. Additionally, a cutting-edge ISO five and six clean room facility was unveiled at the institute’s nanotechnology department.
The secretary of the ministry of electronics and information technology, S. Krishnan, and the officiating director of IIT Guwahati, Rajeev Ahuja, inaugurated this centre of excellence on Friday.
It needs special mention that the SWASTH project will revolutionise the healthcare industry through advanced nanoelectronic theranostic devices, focusing on micro/nanoelectronics and nanomaterials for healthcare and energy applications.
Moreover, the ISO five and six clean room facilities will focus on raising awareness about micro or nanoelectronic fabrication, facilitating industrial research and development, and supporting the Indian Nano Electronics User Programme.
