Dibrugarh, June 21: As part of the nationwide celebration marking 12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare, a Jan Kalyan Shivir was successfully organized today at Unying-Aran Hall, Boleng, under the aegis of the District Administration, Siang.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from government departments, PRI members, community leaders and a large number of beneficiaries from across the district.
The programme was graced by Ojing Tasing, Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Transport and Cooperation, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, whose presence added significance to the event.
The objective of the Shivir was to bring government services and welfare schemes directly to the people and create awareness regarding various Central and State Government initiatives.
Sixteen departments and allied agencies participated in the programme and provided on-the-spot services, registration facilities, awareness campaigns and beneficiary-oriented assistance.
During the programme, the Health Department conducted health screening services including hypertension and diabetes screening, oral and breast cancer screening, PMJAY and ABHA registration, blood investigations and other health-related services.
A special highlight of the event was the Mega Free Eye Check-Up Camp, which received an overwhelming response from the public and benefited a large number of residents.
The Agriculture and Horticulture Departments disseminated information on PM Kisan, SMAM, PMKSY, MIDH, RKVY and other farmer-centric schemes while promoting natural farming practices.
The Rural Development Department created awareness on PMAY-G and other flagship rural development programmes.
The Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) facilitated CMAAY registration, showcased products of SHGs and PMFME beneficiaries, organized the sale of vermicompost and carried out registration for identification of potential Lakhpati Didis. Books of Accounts were also distributed to Self-Help Groups.
The Women and Child Development Department provided information on PM Matru Vandana Yojana and CM Social Security Schemes. Banking institutions assisted citizens with account opening, KYC updates and awareness regarding PMJDY, PMJJBY and PMSBY.
The Food and Civil Supplies Department carried out e-KYC, Aadhaar seeding and awareness regarding ration card services and LPG-related facilities. The Urban Development & Housing Department promoted PM SVANidhi and sensitized citizens on Solid Waste Management Rules.
The Jan Suvidha Kendra issued forms for STC, PRC and ILP, while the Economics & Statistics Department facilitated services relating to birth, death and marriage certificates. The Transport Department provided information regarding learner’s licences and vehicle registration procedures and conducted awareness on traffic rules.
The Election Department sensitized citizens on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), use of the ECI Net App and electoral enumeration procedures.
The Police Department conducted awareness programmes on drug abuse prevention. The ITI Department disseminated information regarding admissions and vocational training opportunities, while the Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Department provided animal health services, distribution of medicines and awareness on livestock development schemes.
The programme witnessed a significant turnout of beneficiaries, reflecting the public’s keen interest in availing government services and learning about various welfare initiatives. The District Administration expressed gratitude to all participating departments, PRI members and members of the public for contributing to the success of the event.
The Jan Kalyan Shivir reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to ensuring last-mile delivery of services and strengthening public outreach through citizen-centric governance.
