Imphal, May 20: Indian Army in Manipur received specific information about the presence of arms and ammunition in the area of Gwaltabi village, Imphal East district of Manipur.

Immediately a joint search operation, with the Manipur Police was launched. A substantive cache comprised one Improvised Long Range Mortar (Pompi), one 303 Rifle, two 12-bore guns, two hand grenades, ammunition, and other war-like stores were recovered.

The recoveries have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal.

The Security Forces remain vigilant and committed to an early restoration of peace and harmony in the state of Manipur.
