Shillong, Feb 28: The United Democratic Party (UDP) Youth Wing on Monday elected MLA Kyrmen Shylla as its president, MLA Balajied Synrem as the secretary and AD Shira as the working President.

Briefing mediapersons following the meeting, Shylla said that the youth wing’s new body has been formed which will take up several issues in the state.

He added that as newly elected president he wouldn’t want to commit as yet on what issues they will take up but a resolution will be taken on March 7, where the next meeting will be held.

However, members from different districts gave their opinions and suggestions in Monday’s meeting. Shylla informed that on March 7, they will chalk out the issues and it will be made public.

“Our aim is to also encourage the youth to come forward and join us since we want to ensure that a regional party leads the state which will benefit the state in several ways,” said Shylla.
