A minute silence was also observed by the people to pay their respect and honour to the fallen tribal Kuki heroes while a prayer for the martyr’s family was also held.

The CoTU also imposed total shut down from 1:00 pm till midnight on July 3 to mark the two-months long violence and as a tribute to the martyr tribal Kuki-Zo people.

“Their sacrifice will not go in vain as we strongly believed their blood will pave the way for our separate administration”, said Lamminlun Singsit, CoTU General Secretary.

He also said that as we commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by our tribal martyr, we also reaffirmed our commitment for a solution in the form of separate administration for the Kuki-Zo people.

Meanwhile, the Committee on Tribal Unity Sadar Hills condemned the attack on Kuki village Phaileng and Kuki volunteers in the hill range of Thingsat by heavily armed miscreants suspected to be the Meitei militants and radical groups on July 3 since early morning.
