Meghalaya Govt amends Fisheries Service Rules

Shillong, Oct 31: The State Cabinet on Tuesday approved the amendment of the Meghalaya Fisheries Service Rules, 2017.

Addressing the media, Cabinet Minister Marcuise N Marak said the amendment was approved for inclusion of M.Sc in fishery science and M.Sc in applied aquaculture in the list of exemption from attending the prescribed course of training along with BF.Sc, a four years course graduates as required under Rule 1 and Rule 3 of the MFSR, 2017.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet also approved the proposed list of holidays. Marak said the total number of holidays proposed for year 2023-24 is under general holidays including Saturdays and Sundays is 23 and under negotiable instrument Act holidays including Saturdays and Sundays is 22 days and special holidays on account of Rev Thomas Jones Day is 1 and restricted holidays including Saturdays and Sundays is 9 days.
