SHILLONG, NOV 28: Meghalaya government in partnership with APEDA and IFOAM-Organics Asia, is hosting the 1st Northeast India Organic Week and the 4th IFOAM World Organic Youth Summit from November 28 to December 1.
The event brings together international organic pioneers, youth leaders, and policymakers to discuss sustainable agriculture and organic trade.
The summit features participation from 13 countries, including Malaysia, Taiwan, and New Zealand, and includes a Buyer-Seller Meet, where international buyers will connect with local producers and FPOs.
The event aims to promote Meghalaya’s organic products and strengthen market linkages.
Key highlights include a special address by Dr. Vandana Shiva, Founder of Navdanya, and technical sessions on organic certification, market trends, and export opportunities.
The summit will conclude with the adoption of the 4th World Organic Youth Summit Declaration, outlining a roadmap for future action.
The event positions Meghalaya as a hub for global organic trade and youth-led agricultural innovation, driving practical solutions for market access and climate resilience.
