Shillong, March 30: The Government of Meghalaya on Monday launched Project ASPIRE (Accelerating Student Potential through Interactive & Remote Education), a ₹1.57 crore initiative supported by NITI Aayog, aimed at improving learning outcomes and preparing students for competitive examinations.
The programme, implemented in collaboration with FILO Edtech, targets gaps in access to quality teaching, career guidance and coaching facilities, particularly in districts such as Ri Bhoi. The project was launched by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
Project ASPIRE is structured as a two-module digital learning system offering app-based academic and career support for both school students and job aspirants.
For students of Classes 9 to 12, the platform provides preparation for board examinations and competitive tests such as NEET, JEE and CLAT. It includes 24×7 live academic support, allowing students to connect with teachers within a minute. The content is aligned with the Meghalaya Board of School Education curriculum and is supplemented by live classes, recorded lessons and a question bank of over one lakh questions.
Monthly assessments will be conducted through schools, with performance tracked at the district level to identify students needing additional support. The platform also includes regular career counselling sessions.
For students who have completed Class 12, the second module focuses on preparation for government job examinations, including banking, railways and SSC. It offers live and recorded classes, along with AI-based feedback and test series. Officials said gamified features have been added to improve engagement.
The initiative comes amid concerns over shortages of specialised teachers at the secondary level, limited access to coaching infrastructure and low awareness of career pathways, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
Officials said the programme is expected to help identify learning gaps early and provide targeted support, while expanding access to competitive exam preparation across the state.
