Shillong, June 4: The Meghalaya Football Association on Thursday unveiled the trophy for the fifth edition of the Meghalaya State League (MSL), setting the stage for a highly anticipated final between Langsning FC and Nongkseh SS&CC at the SSA Stadium on Friday.
The trophy unveiling ceremony was attended by MFA President Hamletson Dohling, other association officials, as well as the head coaches and captains of both finalist teams.
The final pits Shillong Premier League champions Langsning FC against Champions Cup winners Nongkseh SS&CC in what promises to be a thrilling contest between two of Meghalaya’s top football clubs.
The two sides last met in the semi-finals of the Champions Cup 2025, where Nongkseh staged a remarkable comeback from behind to level the match 2-2 before prevailing in the penalty shootout.
Excitement for the final is building rapidly, with organisers reporting that around 50 per cent of the tickets had already been sold by Thursday. With the SSA Stadium having a seating capacity of approximately 5,000 spectators, a packed house is expected for the title clash on Friday.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma is expected to attend the final as the chief guest.
The match is being billed as one of the biggest fixtures in Meghalaya football this season, with both teams aiming to etch their names into the state’s football history by lifting the coveted MSL trophy.
