Mizoram: Champai District Magistrate submits report on Myanmar bombing near border area to Govt

Aizawl, Jan 15: Champai District Magistrate James Lalrinchhana has submitted the report on bombing during the Myanmar Military’s air strike near the Indian border to Home Department of Mizoram government after a thorough investigation.

When Hubnews contacted Champai District Magistrate James Lalrinchhana on Sunday over phone regarding the details of the investigation, he said he had submitted the investigation report to Mizoram Home Department on Friday.

On the other hand, Mizoram government on Saturday clarified that there was no evidence to suggest that Myanmar Military aircrafts had dropped bomb(s) inside the Indian territory.

According to reports, Myanmar Military jets had attacked the ‘Camp Victoria’ of the Chin National Front (CNF), killing five rebels.

According to sources, pieces of shrapnel were recovered from the riverbed of Tiau during the investigation, which was submitted to the Home Department of Mizoram.

The Young Mizo Association (YMA) strongly condemned the incident in strongest way and urged the Indian government to take strong action against Myanmar for violating Indian air space. However, the Indian Army has denied any such bombing on Indian soil.
