Shillong, May 27: NPP leader and cabinet minister James K Sangma on Friday said that more baseless allegations against the MDA government will come up as elections are nearing.

Speaking to reporters, Sangma had outrightly rejected allegations of the MDA government involvement in the illegal coal trade.

“The thing is that it is one thing to throw accusations at people and it is completely something else to substantiate that with evidence. So accusations are flying left and right, we all know that and you know there’s nothing and I have not seen the video but whatever it is I’m very sure is something that we have no involvement in and these are just mere accusations coming,” he said.

The NPP leader also said that “as we inch closer to the elections we can expect such kind of frivolous activities…baseless allegations and accusations will keep coming up.”
