Guwahati: BJP MP and former wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Singh pleaded not guilty to the charges of sexual harassment framed against him in a criminal case filed by five women wrestlers and claimed trial on Tuesday.
Dismissed bail pleas
Guwahati: Holding that the possibility of evidence tampering by him could not be ruled out, the Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed bail pleas of former Delhi Deputy Chief minister Manish Sisodia in corruption and money laundering cases lodged by the CBI and the ED in connection with the excise policy case.
6 people missing
Guwahati: Six people remain missing in Maharashtra after a boat capsized on Tuesday evening in Ujani dam waters near Kalashi village, close to Indapur Tahseel of Pune district.
IMD issues red alert
Guwahati: The Indian Meterological Department (IMD) issued a ‘red alert’ for Delhi and parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh, predicting continued heatwave to severe heatwave conditions over the next five days. Maximum daytime temperatures in many districts of these states may exceed 47 degrees celsius.
Beaten to death
Guwahati: A group of men kidnapped a youth, tied him up with ropes and beat him to death using sticks in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan on Tuesday.
