Dimapur, Jan 29: Nagaland BJP president and state cabinet minister Temjen Imna Along said that talks are going on between Centre and ENPO over Naga issue.

“Our Central leadership is very serious about solving the decade old Naga issue and talks have been going on with the ENPO leadership. The legislature of Eastern Nagaland have decided to participate in the electoral process,” Temjen Imna Along said.

He said, “BJP-NDPP alliance will fight the upcoming polls together. The BJP-NDPP alliance was made with lots of thoughts. BJP never walks out of the alliance. The Centre and state BJP is working in tandem with each other. This time our central leadership has reiterated to go for an alliance and come out victorious.”

“Our central leadership has decided to contest in 20 seats and NDPP will contest in 40 seats. We are hopeful that again the BJP-NDPP alliance will form the government in Nagaland,” Along said.

On January 22, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) in their emergency meeting decided to participate in the upcoming Nagaland assembly polls.

Earlier, ENPO, the apex tribal organisation of eastern Nagaland, had decided to abstain from assembly polls if its demand for a separate state was not fulfilled before polls.

Nagaland has 60 assembly seats and Eastern Nagaland accounts for 20 seats. Polls will take place in Nagaland on February 27.
