New Zealand aviation academy to set up pilot training centre in Arunachal Pradesh’s Hollongi

Itanagar, Oct 1: Good news for the aspiring pilots because very soon New Zealand aviation academy, one of the premier establishments that train commercial airline pilots, will set up a pilot training centre in Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu informed that the aviation academy Zealand-based set up near the Donyi Polo airport at Hollongi in Arunachal Pradesh.

“Great news for aspiring pilots! New Zealand aviation academy shall be setting up a pilot training academy at Hollongi, Arunachal Pradesh,” said Khandu.

Khandu further informed that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) “has provided the land on lease for the academy”.

Congratulating the youths of Arunachal Pradesh, CM Khandu said: “Our youngsters won’t have to go out for training.”

This will become the second commercial pilot training centre in the Northeast. Earlier, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated Northeast India’s first-ever Flying Training academy in Assam’s Lilabari in Lakhimpur district.

The flying academy has been developed by Redbird Flight Training Academy in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India.

Donyi polo Airport, also known as Hollongi Airport, is a domestic airport serving Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh. It is located at Hollongi, situated 14 km south from the coty centre, in the Papum Pare district. It was built by the Airports Authority of India, over an area of 320 hectares.
