Albert Renthlei, Convenor of the Zo United, stated that the rally is to speed up the demand for separate administration for the people of Kuki, Zomi, Hmar and Mizo tribes (together called Zo community).

He reminded that they had submitted the memorandum to the Centre regarding the separate administration and other demands two months back but there has no any reply in letter or words from the government. He further stated that they cannot go on with the present situation as atrocities continue against the community and people are reeling under great hardship.

Emphasizing that separate administration is the only solution to restore peace in the State, he said they have contributed immensely towards developing Manipur into a beautiful state but since May 3, 2023, uncountable atrocities have been committed against them. He further claimed that Meitei radicals have declared war against them and killed hundreds, attacked and burnt their churches, driving them out from the Imphal Valley.

“Now we can only live with the Meiteis as good neighbours,” Renthlei affirmed.
