Tura, July 06: A woman drug peddler has been arrested with contraband during a raid in the Phulbari region of West Garo Hills on Wednesday night, said reports.

The arrest was made by the Police from Phulbari police station after they conducted a search operation on a house in Nimaikata village after receiving information about presence of narcotics.

After police raided the house, the two suspects tried to flee but were apprehended.

Police recovered 6.51 gms of Heroin, a motorcycle and money to the tune of Rs. 55,500/-.

The arrested woman has been identified as 46 year old Romison Nesa, and Rahul Islam (24 years), both hailing from Nimaikata village.
