Shillong, Sept 17: BJP legislator from South Shillong Sanbor Shullai on Wednesday took over as cabinet minister in charge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Arts & Culture, Printing and Stationery, and Legal Metrology.
He hailed the chief minister Conrad K Sangma and the BJP party high command for honoring the agreement signed during the formation of the MDA-2 government.

Talking to media persons after assuming the charge, Shullai revealed that the BJP had signed an agreement with the NPP-led MDA government, which stipulated that AL Hek would serve as a minister for the first two and a half years, followed by Shullai for the remaining two and a half years.
According to him, the agreement was signed in presence of former BJP state president Ernest Mawrie.
“The agreement has been honored by the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and the party high command,” Shullai said.

Asked if he is happy with the departments allotted to him, Shullai said that the allocation of portfolios was not his primary concern. “For me, portfolio is not my concern. For me, if you give only fisheries also I am happy,” he sad while expressing his commitment to serving the people and utilizing his tenure to benefit his constituency and the state.
