Director of Civil Defence & Home Guards MK Sangma said the state’s Central Training Institute of Civil Defence and Home Guards was selected as one amongst 17 CTIs in the country to implement this Central Scheme for Training and Capacity Building of Civil Defence.

Civil Defence and Home Guards Minister Brenning A Sangma on Friday said trained volunteers are often the first to respond during disasters, and their timely action within the “golden window” can save lives.

“Every action you take reflects not only upon yourself, but upon the institution you represent and upon the State you serve” said Comingone Ymbon, Minister of Civil Defence & Home Guards on Wednesday in the first ever Rozgar Mela organized by the department in its Parade Ground in Civil Defence & Home Guards Complex, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong.
