Garo Hills Farmers benefit as MNREDA begins direct Ginger & Turmeric procurement at nearly double market rates

Under the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-supported Livelihood Enhancement Program through Renewable Energy Systems, the Meghalaya Non-Conventional and Renewable Energy Development Agency (MNREDA) has launched a major intervention to support pineapple, ginger and banana farmers across the Garo Hills, aimed at increasing farm incomes, cutting out middlemen and establishing sustainable market linkages.

AGHMPCS hosts two-day celebration of producer groups under FOCUS initiative

The All Garo Hills Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd. (AGHMPCS), under the FOCUS initiative, successfully organised a two-day celebration programme titled “Celebrating the Fruits of PG Farming: From Fields to Festivity” on September 23 and 24, bringing together over 110 Producer Groups (PGs) and nearly 700 farmers and participants from across the region.
