Thousands of enthusiastic spectators came to the Garo village of Chotipara in Goalpara district of Assam to witness the 2nd edition of the 100 Drums Wangala festival that concluded with a colorful display of traditional dance and beating of the drums on Saturday evening.
In an effort to continue the work for Elephant Conservation and mitigate Human-Elephant conflict along the Assam-Meghalaya border villages, a meeting was held between the Wildlife Officials from Goalpara-Assam and East and West Garo Hills Wildlife Division, Tura.
According to reports, the incident took place while the girl was on her way back home from school when she was forcefully dragged inside a car from the streets near her house at Forest gate.
