The Meghalaya High Court has adjourned the case related to the proposed relocation of 342 families of Harijan Colony from Them Iew Mawlong to after the winter vacation, pending the decision of the connected matter before the division bench
The Meghalaya High Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on the case related to the proposed relocation of 342 families of Harijan colony from Them Iew Mawlong till April 28, to enable the state government and the Harijan Panchayat Committee to explore possibility of settlement.
Addressing media persons, SGPC activist Jagmohan Singh said, "We had a constructive meeting and we are hopeful that the problem of the residents of Punjabi Lane will be solved sooner or later."
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the deputy chief minister incharge home Prestone Tynsong in presence of deputy chief minister incharge urban affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar with the delegation of the HPC and Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Mangament Committee (DSGMC) here.
