The Chief Executive Member (CEM), Pyniaid Sing Syiem, on Saturday tabled a deficit budget of Rs. 55,080 for the year 2023-24 for the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), which was presented on the first day of the budget session of the council.

The 3-member delegation also met and interacted with the members of the KHADC executive committee. Executive Member Teibor Pathaw also took the delegation for quick tour of the Council’s building which housed the executive, legislative and judiciary.

A notification issued by the Secretary of the KHADC said that the Chairman Lamphrang Blah has recognized Chyne as the LO of the KHADC with effect from June 20.

The Congress has extended support to the National People’s Party (NPP) to form the new Khasi Hills Democratic Front (KHDF)-led EC in the KHADC.

“The Governor has approved the list of 10 executive members,” KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem said.

“We will be very happy if we can manage to dictate (to the NPP to sever its ties with the BJP). Minus the BJP, we are ready to support and work together (with the NPP in the state), there is no doubt about it,” Pala said.
