Security sources suspect the fresh wave of attacks was carried out with the huge cache of automatic and semi-automatic weapons and mortars looted from the armoury of the 2nd India Reserve Battalion HQ at Naranseina in Bishnupur district on Thursday.
A CoTU leader said that the dawn-to-dusk total shutdown was observed to mark the three-month-long violence and to commemorate the departed Kuki-Zo souls in the violence.
The protestors voiced their strong opposition to both the Manipur government and the central government for their failure to restore normalcy and peace in the troubled region.
This comes days after NCW chief Swati Maliwal visited Imphal and met the victim's who were affected by the violence and also the woman who was paraded naked in the viral video which had gone viral on social media earlier this week.
Singh, while speaking on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, said that the violence in Manipur is a plan of foreign forces, trying to grab the state's territory, playing the victim card.
