Residents, Nokmas and community leaders from the Balachanda-Rajabala area in West Garo Hills have submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Officer of MePDCL, Selsella Technical Branch, demanding immediate intervention to address frequent power outages, persistent low voltage and alleged irregularities in electricity billing.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday announced that more than 76,957 electricity poles will be replaced across Meghalaya under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), with outages required for the work.
