After waiting for weeks to get a commitment from the authorities on their pending salaries, and with no positive response forthcoming, hundreds of employees of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council staff began three days of strike from today.

On the eve of a three days protest strike by hundreds of employees of the GHADC to vent their anger against the Executive committee for their repeated delays in releasing just two months of dues, out of the 31 pending months, the Albinush Marak led EC has moved into top gear pushing salaries into waiting accounts of the staff prompting the workers to call off their stir that was proposed to take off from Tuesday.
