Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra : The government of Manipur has reportedly declined permission for the commencement of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from the iconic Palace Ground in Imphal, according to statements from the Congress party.
Despite Congress' intentions to launch the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Imphal, the BJP-led government in Manipur has not yet granted permission to utilize the Hapta Kangjeibung ground in Imphal East district for the event. The yatra, spearheaded by former party President Rahul Gandhi and scheduled for January 14, faces delays as an AICC delegation met Manipur Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi on Monday, seeking necessary approvals.
Vincent Pala told Hub News on Monday at Congress Bhawan in Tura that the party plans to try and include a strip of Meghalaya under the yatra when Rahul Gandhi marches into Assam.
The journey will traverse through diverse regions, including Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, among others. The purpose of the yatra is to connect with the people and address their concerns.
Congress leader and scion to the Gandhi dynasty, Rahul Gandhi had an in-depth recorded conversation with former Governor Satya Pal Malik and the interview has since gone viral across the country.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that they believe India is a union of states where all religions, all cultures, and all communities need to be protected.
