The Meghalaya government on Tuesday sought to address public concerns over the Shillong Peak Ropeway Project, stating that the project has secured all statutory approvals and is being executed with due regard to environmental and community safeguards.
The Meghalaya High Court has directed the Advocate General and the petitioner's counsel to visit the area around the Shillong Peak Ropeway Cable Car Project to assess the feasibility of carrying out compensatory afforestation.
