Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has written to Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri expressing serious concern over the ongoing gas blowout at ONGC’s well RDS-147A in Barichuk-Bhatiapar, Sivasagar district.
A gas leak at an Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) well in Assam’s Sivasagar district has continued unabated for the fifth consecutive day, prompting the evacuation of around 70 families to a relief camp in Bhati Bongaon.
"The evaluation exercise through Gunotsav gives an opportunity to see where Assam’s education development stands in comparison to previous years," Pegu said.
The flood situation has been grim in Assam after 17 districts were affected after Brahmaputra river rises due to the incessant rain in upper streams areas for the last couple of days.
