In different operations conducted on May 7, alert troops of BSF Meghalaya successfully thwarted illegal smuggling attempts along the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya by seizing cattle, sugar and cosmetic items worth more than Rs 15 Lakhs, being smuggled to Bangladesh through the International border of Meghalaya.

In a combined effort to curb illegal activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border, the vigilant troops of BSF Meghalaya Frontier and Meghalaya Police, successfully seized a huge quantity of Sugar from the bordering area of South Garo Hills district of Meghalaya on 28 April 2024.

A crucial bridge connecting West Garo Hills to South Garo Hills district has collapsed after two heavily loaded trucks carrying sugar tried to pass over it on Tuesday morning near Dimapara area.
