Shillong, May 21: Rila I. Dor Suchiang, a vocational trainer from Lummuroo Secondary School, Shangpung, West Jaintia Hills, has been awarded the prestigious ‘Best Vocational Trainer’ Award at the 4th Samarth Bharat Conclave.
Suchiang, who represents the Electronics and Hardware sector, was selected from among 19 Vocational Training Schools (VTS) in Meghalaya for her outstanding dedication, innovative teaching methods, and impactful contribution to vocational education.
Her recognition comes at a time when the importance of skill-based education is gaining momentum, with the state and central governments emphasizing employability and industry-readiness among students. Suchiang’s consistent efforts in mentoring students, fostering technical skills, and bridging the gap between education and employment have made her a role model in the field.
The award was conferred during a special felicitation ceremony attended by key stakeholders in education, government officials, industry partners, and representatives from AISECT and NSDC on May 14, 2025, at Hotel Palacio in Guwahati. Organized by AISECT Meghalaya, the conclave served as a platform for exchanging ideas, showcasing success stories, and reinforcing the collective vision of building a skilled and self-reliant India.
AISECT Meghalaya has applauded Suchiang’s achievements and reiterated its commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening vocational education across the state.
