Guwahati, July 4: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) restored normal train services on the Lumding–Badarpur hill section Friday morning, less than 24 hours after a major landslide had disrupted the vital rail link.
The landslide, which occurred on Thursday evening between Dihakho and Mupa stations (at KM 51/2-3), had brought train operations to a halt, with large boulders and debris blocking the tracks.

Thanks to overnight restoration efforts led by senior railway officials, the first train—Train No. 12520 (Agartala–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express)—successfully passed through the cleared section around 9:42 am today.
Railway teams worked through the night to remove debris and ensure safety, while help desks at key stations including Guwahati, Lumding, Silchar, Badarpur, and Agartala remained active to assist passengers with real-time updates, food, and water.
All rescheduled or regulated trains have now resumed their onward journeys. Passengers are advised to check official railway enquiry platforms for the latest updates.
