Tura, Feb 19: A city school has released an official statement after an FIR was filed and social media posts alleged that a student was subjected to “assault” and “humiliation” by a teacher.
In its response, the school stated that it does not support corporal punishment in any form and reiterated that the safety and well-being of students remain a priority. The management expressed concern over the incident and said it takes such matters seriously.
According to the statement, the administration initiated an internal review soon after being informed and held discussions with the concerned parties. As the matter is now under formal process, the school said a detailed inquiry will be conducted in line with due procedure. It clarified that no disciplinary action has been taken so far, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The teacher concerned is a senior educator with several decades of service. The school acknowledged that disciplinary practices have evolved over time and affirmed its commitment to current child protection norms and student-centered approaches.
The management noted that while some claims circulating online may not fully reflect the facts, certain aspects of the complaint require careful examination. It assured that appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
The school has appealed to the public to allow the inquiry to proceed without speculation and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
